Wausau Pilot & Review

A 33-year-old Wausau woman died after being struck by a pickup while walking near the intersection of Townline Road and South 25th Street Saturday, officials said.

The crash was reported just before 7 p.m. Saturday and involved a pickup towing a trailer. The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Ashley Marie Krezine, who died of injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. 

Townline Road (County Road N) was closed to traffic for approximately 2.5 hours as the  Marathon County Crash Reconstruction Team investigated the crash. Assisting agencies  included Wausau Fire Department, Wausau Police Department, Everest Metro Police  Department, and the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

Complete circumstances of the crash are still under investigation; however, it is known that  the crash occurred during hours of darkness on an unlit section of roadway and Krezine was  dressed in black clothing.
