MARSHFIELD – Tyler Reissmann and Payton Smith scored late in the third period to lift the Marshfield boys hockey team to a 5-3 win over D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup on Tuesday at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Marshfield jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Triston Reissmann and Smith.

D.C. Everest battled back with a pair of power play goals from Eddie Zynda and Thomas Passineau, before Tyler Reissmann scored with six seconds left in the second period to put Marshfield back on top 3-2.

Passineau scored again for the Evergreens with 7:19 remaining to tie it at 3-3, but the Tigers were able to finish strong with Tyler Reissmann and Smith scoring in the final 4:06.

Marshfield improves to 10-8-1 overall and 4-4 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. D.C. Everest drops to 8-10 and 2-6 in the Valley.

Marshfield will host nonconference games against Mosinee on Thursday and Tomahawk on Saturday. Both games will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.

D.C. Everest plays a nonconference game at Ashwaubenon on Friday.
