STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point boys basketball team overcame a four-point halftime deficit to defeat Wausau East 76-70 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Monday night at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

East led 37-33 at halftime before Stevens Point rallied with a 43-point second half to earn the victory and improve to 11-6 overall and 7-1 in the WVC.

Nate Streveler scored 30 points, and James Jacobs and Danny Zdroik each added 17 for the Panthers.

Gabe Napgezek scored 17 points and Dylan Buchberger had 15 for Wausau East, which drops to 4-13 and 1-6 in the conference.

Both teams return to action Friday with East hosting Marshfield and SPASH traveling to D.C. Everest.
