STEVENS POINT – An annual festival that brings together high school and middle school jazz ensembles from across the state will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Feb. 4.

The 30th Annual UW-Stevens Point Jazz Festival offers students at 22 state schools a day of performances, clinics, masterclasses by university department of music faculty and a concert by a featured guest artist.

This year’s concert will feature tap dancer, singer and musician Max Pollak and his quintet, Rumba Tap. The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. in person at Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point, or streamed virtually.

Tickets for the in-person concert are $30 for adults, $17 for youths and $10 for UW-Stevens Point students. Virtual tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Local participating schools include Tigerton High School, Auburndale High School, D.C. Everest Senior High School, Medford High School, Wautoma High School, Wausau’s Horace Mann Middle School and Wausau West High School.
