WAUSAU – Gabi Heuser scored in the opening minute and the Central Wisconsin Storm went on to roll to a 5-0 win over Chippewa Falls/Menomonie in a girls hockey game Thursday at the Marathon Park Ice Arena.

Mackenzie Bautch and Logan Crawford scored in the second period, and Samantha Federici had two goals in the third as the Storm earned the shutout to improve to 18-3 this season.

Chole Lemke saved all 18 shots she saw in goal for the Storm.

The Storm will wrap up its season next week with a game at Hayward on Tuesday and at home against Lakeshore on Feb. 12 at D.C. Everest. The WIAA playoff brackets will be announced on Sunday and the postseason begins Feb. 17-18.
