MOSINEE – The top-seeded Mosinee girls basketball team held off a pesky Wausau East squad 59-51 in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal Friday night at Mosinee High School.

The Indians led 34-26 at halftime and were able to maintain their eight-point lead in the end.

Mosinee (24-1) will host a regional final on Saturday at 7 p.m. against No. 4 seed New London (13-10).

Claire Selenske scored 16 points, and Kate Fitzgerald and Hailey Shnowske each had 14 points, with Shnowske drilling four 3-pointers in the victory.

Madisyn Krueger led East (6-18) with 22 points and Hailey Valiska added 12 for the Lumberjacks.
