Wausau Pilot & Review

WAUSAU – Mason Prey scored 32 points and Isaac Seidel added 20 points to lead the Wausau Newman Catholic boys basketball team to an 83-62 win over Stevens Point Pacelli in a WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal Friday night at Newman Catholic High School.

No. 1 seed Newman (19-7) rolled out to a 50-26 by halftime and held on from there to advance to a regional final Saturday at 7 p.m. against No. 13 seed Spencer (9-17). Spencer upset No. 5 Port Edwards 70-49 on Friday.

Newman Catholic made 11 3-pointers in the victory, including three each by Prey and Seidel. Prey also added a team-high 10 rebounds.

Logan Mayer had four 3-pointers and 18 points for Pacelli, which finishes the season at 13-13.
