One day after Republican State Senator Jerry Petrowski announced his retirement, Mosinee’s mayor announced he will seek the seat this fall.

Mayor Brent Jacobson made the announcement Friday afternoon.

In addition to serving Mosinee as its Mayor, Jacobson serves on the Marathon County Board and maintains a full time law practice in Central Wisconsin.

In a news release, Jacobson said he intends to bring “small town values” to Madison and said his record of success in reviving the Mosinee community is a “proven example of the type of leadership he hopes to bring” for all central Wisconsin Residents.

Sen. Petrowski represents Wisconsin’s 29th District and has held political office for more than 20 years.
