A northwoods woman is under investigation after a fatal hit-and-run crash in Forest County, officials said.
The crash was reported at about 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 by a 911 caller who found a man lying injured on the side of the road in Laona. The man died of his injuries police said.
Police discovered a vehicle near the scene with damage consistent with the crash and say they arrested a suspect pending a mechanical inspection and crash reconstruction.
Officials have declined to identify the victim or the suspect and say the crash investigation is ongoing.
