Are You Handy Around The House? Good News Project seeks volunteers with building maintenance experience. Warehouse and grounds duties include vacuuming air conditioning unit, changing furnace filter, cleaning out shop vac and office vacuum, and washing exterior windows. Duties are monthly. Schedule is flexible. This is a great opportunity to work independently while making a difference in our community and environment. Do You Love To Cook? Provide a home-cooked meal for up to eight clients at Keep Area Teens Safe, a youth shelter care facility serving runaway and homeless youths. Call 715-298-5053 to set a date, confirm any allergies and set up a drop off time.

Give The Gift Of A Lift. Faith in Action offers rides to seniors for personal appointments, such as visits to family and friends, exercise classes and beauty salons. If you would like to help, contact Jamie at 715-848-8783 or [email protected] to start a volunteer application. Ages 18+.

Become A Shelter Advocate. Be a mentor and advocate for individuals and families at The Salvation Army Transitional Living Center by helping out with meals, talking to residents, monitoring common areas, as well as minor housekeeping and office work. Baby Hygiene Items Needed. The diaper bank at The Neighbors’ Place needs diapers sizes 3-7, Pull Ups in all sizes, overnight Pull Ups sizes L-XL, and baby hygiene products, like wipes and diaper cream. Donations are accepted 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday on the loading dock side of 360 Grand Ave. Contact Elizabeth at 715-845-1966 with questions. 

Children’s and Men’s Clothes Needed. Send your gently used clothing to those who need it the most. The United Way of Marathon County’s Community Closet provides free clothing for all family members. The Closet is most in need of newborn onesies, 12-month boys’ sleepers, 24-month onesies, children’s pants (boys/girls sizes 4T, 5T, 6, 7, 8, and 10-12 – stretch and husky sizes), children’s casual shoes (youth sizes 3-5), men’s shirts and pants (sizes XS & S), and men’s belts. Donations can be dropped off on Wednesdays 1-4 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m.-noon at the Community Closet garage, the north side of 705 S. 24th Ave. (shared building with T-Mobile), in Wausau.
