PLAINFIELD – The Newman Catholic boys basketball team snapped a five-game losing skid as it earned a 61-42 nonconference win over Tri-County at Tri-County High School on Tuesday night.

Lucas Pfiffner had 13 points and Quincy Pfender added 12 in the win for the Cardinals, who had 10 different players find the scoring column in the road victory.

Gage Beggs scored 11 points for Tri-County (4-16).

Newman Catholic is now 3-16 this season and will play a Marawood Conference crossover game at Prentice on Friday.
