PRENTICE – The Newman Catholic girls basketball team won for the fourth time in its last six games with a 46-26 victory at Prentice in a Marawood Conference crossover game Thursday night.

The Cardinals held Prentice (8-14, 4-11 Marawood Conference North) to just 11 points in the second half to finish off the 20-point win.

Ashley Jankowski had 11 points, Lily Shields scored 10, and Aubrey Puent and Evie Bates both had nine in a balanced-effort for Newman (6-15, 5-10 Marawood South).

Newman Catholic plays a nonconference road game at Rosholt on Saturday. Game time is 12:15 p.m.
