Police have identified the man who died Friday in a single-vehicle crash as 76-year-old Alan B. Woznicki, of Schofield.
The crash was reported at about 12:15 p.m. Feb. 9 on County Hwy. C at Sunset Drive near Elderon, in Marathon County.
Police say Woznicki was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Trax east on County Hwy. C when he left the roadway and struck a large rock in the south ditch. The vehicle started on fire after the collision.
Good Samaritans pulled the driver from the vehicle and performed CPR. Lifesaving measures were continued by emergency medical personnel but were not successful. Woznicki died at the scene.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
