WAUSAU – The Wausau East girls basketball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a 60-36 nonconference win at Newman Catholic on Tuesday.

The Lumberjacks (7-16) outscored Newman Catholic (7-16) by double figures in each half to run away with the win.

East hit 13 3-pointers in the victory, including five by Sydney Crawford who led the Lumberjacks with 15 points. Claire Coushman added 13 points in the victory.

Ashley Jankowski had 15 points for Newman Catholic.

Wausau East will open postseason play with a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal at River Falls next Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Newman Catholic finishes its regular season at home against Edgar on Thursday. The Cardinals will go back to Edgar on Feb. 20, for a WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal.
