WAUKESHA – D.C. Everest senior David Mayer won a pair of state titles and the Evergreens had seven top-10 finishes overall at the 2024 WIAA State Boys Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at Waukesha South High School.

Mayer won the 50-yard freestyle in 20.34 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 44.29 seconds to lead the strong contingent of Evergreens at the state meet.

Mayer also teamed with Will Van Ermen, Keaton Barwick and Wes Polley to take third place in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:25.48), and with Van Ermen, Barwick and Adam Swedlund to earn a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:34.66).

Individually, Barwick placed fifth in the 50 freestyle (21.04) and tied for 14th in the 100 butterfly (52.14), and Van Ermen placed ninth in both the 200 individual medley (1:57.20) and the 100 backstroke (52.13) for the Evergreens.
