Trial dates have been set for a 40-year-old Wausau-area man accused of sharing explicit videos of children on a messaging app.

Jeremy A. Campbell faces three counts of possessing child pornography. The case was filed Feb. 1, 2023 in Marathon County Circuit Court following an investigation prompted by a national cybertip.

Police say Snap, Inc. reported three files of suspected child pornography on their servers to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That prompted the investigation, which investigators say revealed apparent sexual activity between a man and a pre-teen. Campbell’s home was searched in October 2022.

Campbell, in an interview with police, allegedly admitted receiving and sending videos of child pornography using the app. He appeared in February 2023 for an initial hearing in the case and was released on a $10,000 signature bond and on March 31 pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During a pretrial conference Feb. 15, a three-day jury trial was placed on the calendar to begin June 5. Campbell remains free on bond.

You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
