The U.S. Junior Men’s Curling team fought back brilliantly in the bronze medal game this morning, but couldn’t overcome a big fifth end by the Danish men and lost 10-9.

In the gold medal game Norway defeated Italy 7-6, in another deep breather.

Following their semi-final loss to Norway yesterday,  Team USA got off to a slow start against Denmark, falling behind 8-2 when the Danes tallied five scores in the fifth end—a killer frame. But led by Wausau West grad and skip Wes Wendling, the Americans battled back, outscoring their opponents 7-1 over the next four ends to tie the game at 9 with one end to play.

Unfortunately, Denmark had the “hammer” (last shot) and was able to hold off the Americans and score one to win it.

With Wendling, the US team included Jackson Armstrong, Caden Hebert, Jackson Bestland, and Kevin Tuma.

All told, Team USA won six and lost five in the championships held at Lohja, Finland, and finished fourth in the world.
