Wausau Pilot & Review

Urgent care services will no longer be available at Marshfield Medical Center-Weston beginning next month as the health organization revises its resources in the greater Wausau and Weston area, officials confirmed on Thursday.

Effective March 8, 2024, all patients seeking urgent care will be directed to Marshfield Clinic Wausau Center, located at 2727 Plaza Drive in Wausau. It will be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

While urgent care services will no longer be available at Marshfield Medical Center-Weston, the facility will continue to offer emergency services 24/7, 365 days each year.

Marshfield Medical Center-Weston is working to open a walk-in clinic for adults, similar to its pediatrics walk-in service that is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Another option is to get care from thome with Care My Way. Patients can speak to a provider over the phone or virtual visit. More info and a list of conditions treated is available through this link: https://www.marshfieldclinic.org/care-my-way.

“These changes allow the Health System to consolidate urgent care staff and resources, which will lead to more efficiency in how care is delivered,” an email to Wausau Pilot & Review states. “It will also move the Health System closer to staffing models that have become standard across the country for delivering care to patients with mild-to-moderate illness or injury. “
