The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is spearheading an investigation of a death Monday at Devil’s Lake State Park, according to a news release issued March 18.
The investigation started at about noon, but few details have been publicly released. Devil’s Lake State Park is the state’s largest park and is located in Sauk County.
In a news release, DNR officials said first responders were called to the scene and reported no apparent threat to the public. The park remains open as of Monday afternoon.
Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister said his agency was not involved in the investigation.
