Several times a year the Veterans Weekly Cup-of-Coffee group members nominate a military veteran for a Veteran Coffee Mug Award. Veterans are awarded the mug for their past service to our country and community. They are honored at a ceremony and awarded the personally etched stainless steel coffee mug. The award is produced and donated by Everlasting Etchings, LLC in Kronenwetter. It is their way of thanking our Veterans for their service.

On March 13, 2024 Robert Fandre was presented the award by Mike Heilmann at Denny’s in Rothschild.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He was an aircraft mechanic stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan. He was also stationed at McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida where he trained on F4 Phantom’s prior to serving as a F4 Crew Chief in Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam.

Bob is a member and a Past Commander of the Wausau VFW Post 388.  He continues to serve veterans and his community as a Chaplain for the Man of Honor Society, Schofield DAV Post 64 and the Veterans Weekly Cup-of-Coffee group. Bob is also a long-time member of the Wausau American Legion Post 10. He is an active Bible Study group member at Mount Olive Church in Weston.
