Up to four inches of snow is expected to fall Friday in central Wisconsin including Wausau and Marathon County, with a winter weather advisory in effect starting in the early hours of the morning.

The advisory begins at 1 a.m. Friday and stretches until 1 p.m., with the greatest snowfall rates of a half-inch to an inch per hour expected between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

The National Weather Service advises travelers to expect slippery road conditions that will hamper the Friday morning commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
