Dear editor,
As you may have noticed on social media, some Republican group called Wisconsonites for Liberty (Fund) is sending out mailers in support of Doug Diny for mayor. Or more precisely against Katie Rosenberg.
The mailers are a typical political hack job with the scary black and white picture and plenty of misinformation, like Katie forced the Brokaw paper plant to close and Amazon to leave town. So, that is not the weird part.
Why in the world do some Republican money bags care about the Wausau mayoral election? And just now there was a TV ad for Katie that was paid for by the state Democrats. Why do they care?
Doesn’t seem to me that the mayor here has enough power to attract statewide money. What is going on here?
