Wausau Pilot & Review

Police have identified the 50-year-old driver who died Friday in a two-vehicle crash as Shannon Deshannon, of Wisconsin Dells.

The crash, between a pickup and a semi tractor trailer, was reported just before 11 a.m. Friday in the area of Hwy. 13 and Adams County Hwy. K in the town of Dell Prairie. Deputies and responders arriving at the scene had a difficult time accessing Deshannon, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene but Deshannon died before being transferred to the flight.

Adams County officials say a northbound truck crossed the center line into the southbound lane of travel on Hwy. 13 and collided with an oncoming semi.

This crash remains under investigation.

The Pilot often relies on reports from police officials in control of a crime, fire or crash scene during a breaking news event. While these initial reports are valuable to readers, they also can be incomplete and even inaccurate. We let readers know what we can and can’t confirm, as well as when and how we received our information. Then we work to aggressively gather a wider range of perspectives and to verify the information through public records, interviews, photos and videos, all of which are verified before publishing.
