Wausau Pilot & Review

KOHLER – Wausau East’s Ted Schlindwein finished in a tie for 86th place at the 2024 WIAA State Boys Golf Tournament which was held Monday and Tuesday at the Meadows at Blackwolf Run.

Schlindwein shot a 90 on Monday and followed that up with a six-stroke improvement on Tuesday with an 84. His two-day total of 174 placed him in a three-way tie for 86th place among the 104 Division 1 competitors.

Cody Schmidt of Germantown shot a 74-71-145 to win in the Division 1 individual state title, two shots ahead of Lincoln Hottmann of DeForest. Mason Haupt of West De Pere and David Spahr of Brookfield East tied for third with two-day totals of 148.

Team champions were Waunakee (Division 1) with a two-day score of 619, Lakeland (Division 2) with a 27-hole score of 463, and Mineral Point (Division 3) with a 27-hole score of 483.
