WESTON, Wis – D.C. Everest officials will be holding an open house tomorrow on the pending referendum vote.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 7 at D.C. Everest Senior High School, 6500 Alderson Street.

The district is pushing for a yes vote on a $59.8 million dollar referendum that would provide funding to renovate the district’s buildings.

Officials say that many of the schools facilities are out of date, and many buildings across the district are in need of new secure entrances, new roofs, and better accessibility to comply with the ADA. In addition, several of the district’s elementary schools will get new additions and renovated classrooms to better accommodate a growing enrollment in the district.

Superintendent Kristine Gilmore will be on hand to answer questions, and a presentation on the benefits of the project will also be shared. Tour guides will then lead parents and residents on a trip through the building to see what sort of improvements need to be made.

Current estimates show that the average tax rate impact will be $36 a year for homeowners in the district.
