WAUSAU – In the wake of storms that tore through the city early Monday, Wausau will extend yard waste site hours this week and is offering curbside pickup for larger debris.

The city’s Yard Waste Site, at the east end of Chellis Street, will be open today through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The site will be closed on Easter Sunday and will revert to regular hours on April 17, according to a city news release.

For storm damage amounts larger than a small trailer or pickup load, residents can call the Department of Public Works at 715-261-6971 by 3 p.m. Thursday to request curbside pickup at no charge, which will take place on Monday, April 17.

Tree debris should be placed on the curb with the cut end facing the street.
