A Wausau man missing since January died by drowning, police said Monday.

At this time investigators have found no reason to suspect foul play in the death of Michael Bujanowski, according to a Wausau Police Department news release. Dental records comparison made over the weekend confirmed Bujanowski is the man whose body was found Thursday in Schofield.

Bujanowski, 28, was reported missing January 24 after he walked away from North Central Health Care in Wausau. He remained a missing and endangered person until Thursday, when Everest Metro Police responded to the 700 block of Country Club Road to a report of a body in the water.

Wausau police were alerted because clothing on the body matched the clothing worn by Bujanowski when he vanished.

Bujanowski’s family members, many of whom reside in the Edgar area, are requesting privacy at this time. Funeral services are planned for Saturday.
