WAUSAU — New allegations have surfaced against a former Wausau man who allegedly played a “strip” card game with two preteens, court records show.

Ten new felony charges were filed Thursday in Marathon County Circuit Court against Douglas Thew, 52, now of Wonewoc, bringing the total number of charges against him to 15.

Charges of child enticement and four counts of exposing genitals to a child were first filed June 29 against Thew, who is now being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.

The new charges include repeated sexual assault of the same child, soliciting a child for prostitution, child enticement, causing a child younger than 13 to view or listen to a sex act and multiple counts of exposing genitals to a child.

Accusations against Thew first surfaced in June 2016, when one of the alleged victims, now age 15, told police she and another girl had played a card game similar to “War” with Thew on a number of occasions while Thew was babysitting them. The game involved removing pieces of clothing, court records show. Thew also asked the girls to pose naked for him, according to the criminal complaint.

The victims were age 10 and 12 in 2011, when the alleged assaults occurred.

A preliminary hearing is set for July 19.
