Dozens of area firefighters on Monday took part in a training exercise by fighting a home fire that was intentionally set.
Several readers called, emailed, or sent Facebook messages to Wausau Pilot and Review asking about the source of the smoke and flames they saw billowing from the neighborhood.
But the controlled fire was nothing to worry about and will help fire crews be more prepared to fight future blazes.
The home, at 120 S. 14th Ave., was donated for the training, officials said.
