WAUSAU — A public presentation to raise community awareness and increase visibility of the city’s housing challenges has been set.

The presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15 at Wausau City Hall in council chambers. Joseph Volk, executive director of the Wisconsin Coalition Against homelessness, will be the keynote speaker.

Volk is expected to provide an overview of state legislation on homelessness and offer examples of strategies that are working well in other communities. Public comment will not be accepted at the meeting, but advance questions can be submitted to Mayor Robert Mielke to help guide the discussion. Email questions to Mielke’s assistant at kathi.groeschel@ci.wausau.wi.us or mail comments to Mayor Rob Mielke, 407 Grant St., Wausau WI 54403.
