WAUSAU — Police have released the name of a 77-year-old man found dead Tuesday outside his Wausau home.

The victim has been identified as 77-year-old Lyle R. Leith, according to a Wausau Police Department news release. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death. Leith’s body was found by his daughter at about 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday in the 1000 block of Kickbusch Street, police said.

One man is in custody in connection with the ongoing investigation. Police say as a result of several interviews related to the case, they searched a Florence County home and arrested a man on a felony domestic violence charge. That man’s name has not yet been released.

“We will continue to work relentlessly to bring justice to Mr. Leith’s family,” the release stated. “If you have any information regarding this case, please contact the Wausau Police Department at 715-261-7800.”

Police have not yet specified a motive in the case. Additional details are expected tomorrow.

Leith’s death marks the first homicide in Wausau and the third in Marathon County in 2018.
