MADISON, Wis. – A heartbreaking end to the season for the D.C. Everest Boys Hockey team as they fall in double overtime to Waukesha North by a score of 3 – 2 at the state hockey tournament in Madison.

The boys kept it even through the first three periods with goals from both Ryan Begley and Davis Hackbarth, but ultimately fell near the start of the second overtime with a goal by Waukesha North’s Kevin Broda.

Evergreens goalie Michael Janke had 28 saves on the evening to rack up an excellent effort by the boys.

The Evergreens made it into the tournament for the first time ever through a pair of double overtime wins over SPASH and Wausau West last month during sectionals.

The Evergreens finish the year 19-6-2.
