UPDATE: All clear given after bomb scare in downtown Wausau

UPDATED, 2:27 p.m. — Police have given an “all clear” after a bomb scare in downtown Wausau.

Members of the Marathon/Oneida County Bomb Squad were called to The 400 Block Wednesday afternoon after a suspicious package was discovered on a ledge at the downtown park.

After blocking off Third Street from Jefferson to Scott Streets for safety reasons, officers determined the package was not dangerous.

WAUSAU — Officers have blocked off a portion of Third Street while they investigate what appears to be a suspicious package left at The 400 Block.

A portion of Third Street has been blocked off from Jefferson Street to Scott Street and members of the bomb squad are at the scene.

No other details have been released.
