Wausau West High School Key Club members recently attended the DCON leadership conference in Green Bay, where they attended breakout sessions, entered competitions, helped elect the governing board, recognized retiring board members, and had fun meeting other Key Clubs from Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
West High Key Club members placed in the following events: Kara Nyhus-Distinguished Vice President Award, Commitment to Service Award, Outstanding Junior Service Award; Olivia Lemke-Commitment to Service Award, Distinguished President Award, Michael Brukwicki Scholarship Award; Ariana Peters-First Place Impromptu Essay Award; and First Place for our Non-Traditional Scrapbook.
Key Club is a student version of Kiwanis Club. Students organize community service projects, attend district conventions and promote school spirit.
