WAUSAU — A 26-year-old sex offender released in July on extended supervision is on the loose after removing his GPS ankle monitor on Friday, according to the Wausau Police Department.

Police say Dominick D. West absconded from supervision and has an active warrant out for his arrest.

West served a four-year prison term after being convicted in 2013 on charges of second degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement/prostitution, exposing genitals to a child and fourth degree sexual assault, according to court documents. He was released July 11 and placed under the supervision of Marathon County Probation and Parole agents.

Since being released, West faced new charges in two separate Marathon County Circuit Court cases that included tampering with a GPS monitoring device, bail jumping and disorderly conduct. Charges of tampering with a GPS monitoring device and bail jumping were dismissed as part of a plea agreement, and West on Friday was ordered to spend 45 days in jail on the disorderly conduct charge.

Mr. West currently has an active warrant for his arrest.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dominic West is asked to contact the Wausau Police Department at 715-261-1200.
