VILLAGE OF SPENCER — Police are asking the public for information about a man they say approached a young girl twice, asking her to go to a park with him.

According to police, at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday the girl was approached by the man near an A&W restaurant in Spencer.

According to the girl, the man approached her two times. The first time, the man commented on how the girl must be pretty “tough” to be walking by herself. The second time he approached her, he asked for directions to a 3-story apartment complex, police said. He also allegedly asked the girl where she lives and if she wanted to go to the park with him. The girl declined and left the restaurant, police said.

Police are asking for more information about this man, who allegedly attempted to persuade a young girl to go to a park with him in Spencer.

The man is described as having blue eyes and pimples on his face. He was on a black motorcycle with higher handlebars and was wearing a black helmet with a tinted shield, blue t-shirt, possibly gray pants, and a black backpack.

Anyone who can identify the man should contact the Spencer Police Department at 715-659-5453.

Police are also warning parents to ensure children fully understand the concept of “stranger danger” and encourage them to report any odd behavior or interactions by anyone that they don’t know.

“This young girl did exactly what she should have by not giving any information and by telling an adult immediately,” police said.
