TOWN OF DAY — No injuries were reported in an overnight blaze that destroyed a home in the town of Day, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.

Crews responded at about 1:30 a.m. to a report of a structure fire on Old Hwy. C after a caller reported a structure was engulfed in flames. The two-story single family residence is a total loss, police said.

The owners of the residence were out of town when the blaze broke out and no one was inside. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, but the fire does not appear suspicious, police said.

The Stratford Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the McMillan, Spencer, Hewitt and Auburndale Fire Departments. The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office along with the Stratford Police Department also responded to the scene. Fire crews are still remained at the scene for hours, even after the blaze was extinguished, to check for hot spots and flare ups.
