In a classic battle of the bats, the Wisconsin Woodchucks fell to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Thursday at Athletic Park by a score of 8-4.

The Woodchucks were right in the game until the sixth inning but the Rafters hitters came through with four runs in the top of the 6th, which put them up 8-3 and set the visiting team up for a win.

The Chucks scored three runs in the first three innings. Woodchucks third basemen Tommy Duddleston had a big night offensively with three hits including an RBI double. Chucks second basemen Peter Ahn also had a nice night at the plate with his first two hits as a Woodchuck. Relief pitcher Jordan Walden also had a strong outing with two scoreless innings.

The Woodchucks head out on the road for a one game trip to Wisconsin Rapids, and will be back at home at Athletic Park on Saturday, June 2nd as they host the Kenosha Kingfish with a first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.
