UPDATE — A 17-year-old Marshfield boy reported missing this week has been found safe, police said.

Michael Atkins was found Saturday in Marshfield and was reunited with his family, according to police.

MARSHFIELD — Police in Marshfield are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 17-year-old boy last seen Thursday afternoon.

Michael Atkins left his residence in Marshfield on Thursday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. in a grey 2006 Pontiac Vibe displaying Wisconsin registration plate 339 XRJ, according to an alert from the Wisconsin Crime Alert Network.

When the boy left his home he failed to take his cell phone, wallet and his essential medications. Atkins failed to report to work later that afternoon, and since leaving his residence has failed to contact any family, friends or employer.

Police describe Atkins, who is black, as 5’8? tall and 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair that is shaved on the sides and long and curly on top. He was last seen wearing a white T shirt and black pants and has a slight limp when he walks.
