WAUSAU — Construction transforming Wausau’s historic Hiawatha Train Station into a unique new distillery and winery is now complete and the business will open Oct. 2, according to a city of Wausau news release.

Timekeeper Distillery, 720 Grant Street, is expected to offer “high-energy” tours, community events, tastings and snacks, along with classic drinks such as Manhattans, Rob Roys and Golden Cadillacs — all of which will capitalize on the building’s nostalgia.

Dan and Kimm Weber, owners of the business, will offer tours to focus on the distillation process as well as the history of the train station, the release states. The detached luggage house will serve as the distillery while the train station will serve as the tasting room.

Timekeeper Distillery will open Oct. 2 and will host a grand opening celebration on Oct. 6. Hours of operation are 2 p.m. to 10 pm. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to close on Saturday and Sunday. Private events are allowed.
