WAUSAU — Hear classic and jazz favorites at two concerts held at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Wausau this week.

A Classical Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 18, featuring the Concert Choir and the Concert Band. Both ensembles will present a variety of classic and contemporary literature, including works by Duruflé, William Dawson and Alfred Reed.

The Fall Jazz Concert will be performed at 7 p.m. Oct. 21. Repertoire will feature both traditional and modern jazz standards and pop tunes, including works by Finnish composer Mia Makaroff, Billy Joel and a modern take on a Bob Dylan classic.

Both will be held at the James F. Veninga Theater in the UW Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Tickets are $5 each, or free for UW-Stevens Point students. Tickets can be purchased online through http://uwmc.uwc.edu/arts/music/schedule or at the theater starting 30 minutes before the show.
