The body of a 29-year-old Kronenwetter man missing for nearly four months has been found, according to police.

David Strasburg was last seen at about 6 a.m. on Aug. 11 on Spring Road in Kronenwetter. His body was discovered Nov. 27 by a hiker in a wooded area about a mile from Chuck’s Lansing in Mosinee, police said.

Police say evidence at the scene points to suicide. Autopsy results show Mr. Strasburg died of a single gunshot wound, according to a news release. His family has been notified.

Police on Aug. 17 located Strasburg’s vehicle, a silver 2007 Mazda CX7 after an alert citizen spotted the car. But Strasburg was nowhere near the vehicle and a K9 search of the area did not produce any results, according to the KPD.

Kronenwetter Police were assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, the Mosinee Police Department and the Wausau Police Department.
