A winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, with up to six inches of snow expected in the area.

According to the National Weather Service, snow ahead of a a low pressure system passing through the region will begin to impact northern Wisconsin late tonight before spreading across the rest of the area Tuesday morning. Snow should taper off late Tuesday night as the system passes.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions that could affect both the morning and evening commute on Tuesday.

A winter weather advisory for snow means periods of precipitation will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow-covered roads with limited visibility and use caution while driving.
