New events added Feb. 3: Marathon County Public Library activities

The Marathon County Public Library will host several events in the coming weeks at its various libraries.


Children of all ages are invited to celebrate LEGO Block Month from Feb. 1-28 at the Edgar Branch, 224 S. Third Ave., Edgar. Drop in any time the branch is open in February to play and build with a variety of LEGO blocks. Free. Call 715-352-3155 for more info.


Adults can learn the basics of using Facebook during free classes on Feb. 4 from 6-8 p.m. and on Feb. 6 from 2-4 p.m. at the Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Learn how to make an account, send friend requests and more. Free. Call 715-261-7230 for more info or to register.


Kids in grades K-5 can create items with duct tape on Feb. 5 from 4-7 p.m. at the Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Make a wallet, pencil bag, bookmark and more using duct tape in a variety of colors and designs. Free. Call 715-261-7220 for more info.

People of all ages can make their own handmade Valentine’s Day cards Feb. 6-13 at the Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. Stop in any time the branch is open to make your card, with all necessary supplies provided. For more info, call 715-693-2144.


NEW! The Marathon County Public Library will begin offering its next round of LENA Start sessions on Feb. 6 from noon-1 p.m. and on Feb. 7 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Classes will be held weekly through May 1 and May 2, respectively. Parents who want to enroll in LENA Start (benefitting children ages 0-32 months) can contact Nicole Tank at 715-848-1457, email ntank@chw.org or text 715-660-0397.
