WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

WAUSAU — The city of Wausau is extending its snow emergency, which is already in effect, until noon on Wednesday.

According to a city news release, vehicles can not be parked on streets during this time period to allow crews to plow streets for commuting traffic, maintain bus transportation, and ensure emergency vehicles can respond to calls.

Vehicles which are parked on city streets are subject to being ticketed. The forfeiture for parking on the street during a snow emergency is $100.

Keeping parked vehicles off of the streets also reduces the risk of accidents with snow plow equipment during heavy snow and low visibility situations. Drivers should use extreme caution on snow-covered streets and during low visibility and heavy snowfall times. Please slow down and stay clear of snow plows.
