Marathon County Public Library programs: Week of July 21

Patrons of all ages are encouraged to read together with a friend during Read With a Friend Day on July 22 from 2-5 p.m. at the Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon City. Meet other folks at the library and talk about your favorite books. Free. Call 715-443-2775 for more info.


Kids can create their own flying saucer from July 22-26 at the Spencer Branch, 105 S. Park St., Spencer. Drop in any time the branch is open throughout the week to create a spacecraft using bowls, aluminum foil and other supplies! Free. For more info, call 715-659-3996.


Using a variety of craft supplies, kids can make their own paper rocket ship or model flying saucer from July 22-27 at the Hatley Branch, 435 Curtis Ave., Hatley. Drop in any time throughout the week to participate. Free, with all supplies provided. For more info, call 715-446-3537.

Toddlers can enjoy a music and movement-themed story time and dance party on July 22 from 11-11:30 a.m. at the Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Each session will include stories followed by dancing with music, scarves, bubbles and more! For more info, call 715-261-7220.

Kids can attend a summer craft day at the Edgar Branch, 224 S. Third Ave., Edgar, on July 22 from 1-7 p.m.! A different craft project will be offered each Monday throughout the summer. Free. For more info, call 715-352-3155.

Kids can hear about the people and animals that lived in Wisconsin thousands of years ago during the Ice Age during two free programs on July 23 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and again from 2-3 p.m. at the Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. Children can learn about constellations and how to find them in the night sky during an event on July 23 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Stratford Branch, 213201 Scholar St., Stratford.
