STEVENS POINT — The Portage County Sheriff’s Department will hold a hunter safety course beginning Sept. 30 in the training room at the Portage County Sheriff’s Department, 1500 Strongs Ave, Stevens Point.

Classes will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 30, Oct. 1, Oct. 3 and Oct. 7. There will also be a field day from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Dewey Shooting Range, 3001 Willow Springs Drive, Stevens Point.

The course costs $10 and material covered is designed for students 11-12 years of age and older.
