Rhinelander City Administrator Dan Guild is on paid administrative leave until at least March 30, after council members met in closed session on Friday to discuss the matter.

Guild, 40, is free on bond after his arrest Monday on felony misconduct charges.

Alderpersons George Kirby and Dawn Rog are both traveling and were unable to attend Friday’s meeting. Kirby and Rog  haven’t attended a meeting in months, according to a WXPR report.

Both Kirby and Rog petitioned the council to allow their participation in closed session by phone, but their request was denied.

Mayor Chris Frederickson said the council will meet again after Guild’s March 30 preliminary hearing to determine next steps. During a preliminary hearing, a judge decides whether prosecutors have enough evidence to move forward with a trial.
