Crews responded Sunday to a single vehicle rollover east of Wausau on Hwy. 52 east of Wausau, according to emergency scanner reports.

The crash was called in just after 4 p.m. Sunday, April 12. One person was reported trapped inside the vehicle. The person was conscious when first responders arrived at the scene.

There’s no word yet on the extent of the victim’s injuries.

The crash happened as roads near Wausau were reported as ice-covered and slippery, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Highways from Merrill to Stevens Point and from Abbotsford to Wittenberg are ice-covered as of 4:20 p.m. Sunday, as a strong storm system makes its way through the region.
