The Weston Municipal Center remains closed to the public as of Tuesday, May 26 while officials determine the best approach to reopening.

At their May 18 meeting, the board discussed reopening. But in a May 22 report to the Board of Trustees and all employees, the village administrator advised a deliberate approach to “re-opening” access to the Village Municipal Center.

Access protocols to the Village of Weston Municipal Center are still being evaluated.

Until further notice the Village of Weston will continue closure of the following facilities to the public:

  • The Municipal Center, 5500 Schofield Ave.
  • All park restrooms
  • Due to the level of uncertainty, park shelter reservations for anyone who made reservations through June 20 will be refunded. Reservations could be taken for later this summer as the situation changes, officials said.

All park spaces and playgrounds are open for patrons to use at their own discretion. Weston will not be disinfecting those spaces.

Utility bill payments can be made online, using automatic or bill pay features, using the village drop box outside the municipal center, or the Intercity State Bank drive through in Weston.

Building permits can be obtained through the online permit service, Evolve. Other business can be made by telephone or by appointment.

Village meetings are once again being held but remain limited to in-person attendance by a maximum of 10 people. The village is using virtual meting software and conference calling to allow public participation in meetings.
